Every year, MAEF reviews dozens of grant applications from district teachers. However, Foundation monies are not intended to substitute or replace the regular school budget. Instead, the Foundation’s purpose is to create a platform from which teachers and students can expand from and turn their classroom into a more exciting learning environment in one of these five primary fund areas:

• Technology & Learning
• Scholastic Enhancement
• Arts & Education
• Professional Development
• Cultural Enrichment
